JD Vance heckled as he meets National Guard in Washington DC

US Vice-President JD Vance and other senior members of the Trump administration were heckled as they met National Guard troops in Washington DC.

Vance, along with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, visited the troops at Union Station, DC’s largest rail hub, on Wednesday.

Protesters yelled at the trio to leave the city, some shouting “Free DC” and “Free Palestine”.

President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to the capital on 11 August, as he pledged to crack down on crime and homelessness in the city.
