‘Indescribable happiness’ as detainees return to Gaza

Family members of Palestinian prisoners and detainees have shared their joy at the release of their family members and friends. Israel released 1,968 people as part of a ceasefire deal with Hamas.

The release of Palestinians happened in two groups, one group being transferred from Ofer Prisoner in West Bank and the second from Ketziot prison in southern Israel.

Hamas has released the last 20 living hostages, after more than two years in captivity.

The coffins of two dead Israeli hostages have been handed to the Red Cross, but Hamas said it does not know the location of some of the other 24 deceased hostages.
